Menu Del Dia was awarded First Prize in the 2026 City of Rockingham Art Prize.

Seen through amber security glass, an overlooked restaurant interior dissolves into abstraction. Colour, grid and distortion flatten depth into a painterly surface, while pareidolia introduces ambiguous presences and an uncertain psychological space.

The judges described the work as “provocative and mysterious,” noting that its ambiguity slowed the act of viewing and encouraged discussion, sensorial engagement and critical reflection.
